Introduction

Chuck Stone is a former Tuskegee Airman, professor and journalist who was once the editor of Harlem’s New York Age, Washington, D.C.’s Afro-American and the Chicago Daily Defender. A graduate of Wesleyan University in 1948, Stone was the first president of the National Association of Black Journalists, and a key activist during the Civil Rights and Black Power movements. Brothers and sister’s Blackademics would not have been possible without the trailblazing efforts of elders like Chuck Stone. Welcome to Blackdemics!
