Introduction
Chuck Stone is a former Tuskegee Airman, professor and journalist who was once the editor of Harlem’s New York Age, Washington, D.C.’s Afro-American and the Chicago Daily Defender. A graduate of Wesleyan University in 1948, Stone was the first president of the National Association of Black Journalists, and a key activist during the Civil Rights and Black Power movements.
