June 2008 Interview: Bill Cobbs

Introduction:

Bill Cobbs is an African American film actor whose career has spanned over 35 years and over 120 television programs and movies. You may recognize him from the popular films: New Jack City, The Bodyguard and Demolition Man, or from some of his more recent projects like Night at the Museum and The Sopranos - but he distinguishes himself through the work he does in the community. Cobbs has been part of several outreach initiatives from South Central to South Carolina - sharing his experiences and skills with young aspiring actors. I met with Mr. Cobbs at a soul food restaurant in South Central after he did a workshop with the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. Blackademics, Bill Cobbs is in the building.
