June 2009 Interview: Samini

Introduction:

Samini is a West African Hip-Hop, dancehall and reggae recording artist who is one of the pioneers of the Hiplife movement. A native of Accra, Ghana Samini received international recognition as the winner of the Best African Act at the 2006 Music of Black Origin Awards and as a nominee for the Best Live Performer at the inaugural MTV Africa Awards in 2008. He has shared the stage with everyone from Beanie Man to Jay-Z. Live from his studio in Ghana, Blackademics welcome Samini.
